Chinatown Rising听blends powerful archival footage with personal narrative to tell the untold stories of San Francisco鈥檚 Chinatown during the civil rights movement. Co-directed by Joshua Chuck, the film captures the spirit of grassroots activism, cultural identity, and the ongoing struggle for equity鈥攕tories that still resonate deeply today. Following the screening, we鈥檙e honored to welcome Joshua Chuck听for a live conversation and Q&A.

Joshua Chuck, Co-Director & Producer
Born and raised in San Francisco鈥檚 Chinatown, Josh has spent over 25 years working in and for his community鈥攁s a youth worker, filmmaker, and fundraiser. His storytelling work focuses on amplifying the voices of underserved communities across the city. He currently leads the UPS Community Internship in San Francisco, a hands-on immersion program for company leadership, and听Chinatown Rising听marks his feature film debut.
