Stephanie Reyes is a ceramic artist living and working in Las Cruces, New Mexico.Ìý She received her BA from New Mexico State University. Reyes’ work draws inspiration from her love of horror films, as well as her own experiences of domesticity, being both a mother and a wife. At first glance Reyes’ work appear delectable with its home décor color pallet and pinterest friendly forms, but upon closer examination we find that something is not quite right. Her work distils the psychology of wearing a smile over intense emotions of unspoken truths. Festering and infecting the pleasure intended when sharing the tray of grandma’s cupcakes and cookies.
