Bio:
Layla Sepulveda is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and is based in Stockton, California. She primarily works with acrylic paint, graphic design, and mix-media arts. She is currently a student studying Graphic Design at 九色视频.听
Artist Statement:
This style of flower fold book as well as both the technique of Suminagashi marbling and monoprinting was something that I got that chance to learn about while participating in a workshop class. This technique of creating a book was completely new to me, but I found it to be very interesting. It is such a simple process to create it yet, it is such a unique type of book. With many possibilities to how your pages unfold. The pages of this book are composed of monoprints, Suminagashi marbling, and collage pieces. Each of the pages are related to different lines of the poem.

You're the sweetness in your laughter,

And the one that you call home.
You're the things that you believe in,

You're the photos in your bedroom,听

But it seems that you forgot,
When you decided that you were defined,
by all the things you鈥檙e not.听
